Padded Bras
A padded bra has foam in the cup, built in as a permanent layer, molded as a single shaped shell, or supplied as pads that lift out. A thin layer adds coverage, a full foam cup sets the shape, and spacer models do the same work in a lighter, breathable material. The bras on this page share one trait, foam in the cup. The wire, the fabric and the cup shape all vary around it, so the useful questions here are how much foam there is, where it sits, and whether it comes out.
What is a padded bra?
A padded bra has foam in the cup, and a bra with padding gets it one of three ways. Built in as a permanent layer between the outer fabric and the lining. Molded, with the cup itself formed as a single foam shell. Or supplied as pads that sit in a pocket and lift out. Product names in this collection also say foam cup for the same idea, and some US listings use lightly lined for a thin foam layer, though lined on its own can also mean a fabric backing with no foam in it.
Where the foam covers, the cup is opaque, and how much it covers is a property of the model rather than of the type. Sewn-in layers can run the whole cup or sit in selected zones, removable pads come in different sizes and positions, and each product states what it carries. Foam also has thickness wherever it is placed. What that does to the silhouette ranges from close to nothing in a spacer cup to open fullness in a push-up.
Padded, push-up and molded are three different words
They name three separate things, and they get used as if they were one. Padded describes what is inside the cup. Push-up describes where that padding is concentrated and at what angle, thicker along the bottom and outer edge so the bust is moved up and toward the center. Molded describes how the cup was made, as one formed piece instead of several panels sewn together.

How much foam, and whether it comes out
The amount of foam changes what the bra does more than the name on the label does. A lightly padded cup carries a thin even layer that covers and smooths without altering the silhouette much. A full foam cup, the build listings call fully padded, is thicker and reads as a defined round line under close-fitting clothes. Molded and spacer cups hold their outline off the body, while a seamed foam-backed cup takes its shape from its panels and softens when it is put down. Foam in the lower half of the cup only, with something sheer above it, is a separate build with its own page in semi-padded bras.
Some models let the pads out. Where a product name says removable padding or customizable lift, the foam sits in a pocket and can be lifted out to lower the shaping. The cup sits less full without them and the neckline lands differently, so treat the two states as related, not interchangeable. Sewn-in foam stays put, and pulling at it distorts the cup.
Does padding still work at a large cup size?
It does. The cup letter is not the obstacle, the foam spec is what to check, because across a larger surface a thick or dense layer and its seams show more readily under thin, close-fitting clothes. Many of the deeper models here answer that with thin foam, with multi-panel cups, and with spacer material, a formed open foam that gives the cup shape with less bulk than a solid layer and breathes better with it.
Bands run 65 to 100 and cups A to J, with the deepest cups appearing in individual models instead of across the range. If depth of cup matters to you more than a foam layer does, unlined bras covers the same bust with fabric alone. And if the goal is a cup shaped to redistribute projection, that is a question of geometry, not material, and it belongs to minimizer bras. Some spacer models are also minimizers, but the words describe different things.

Fabric on the outside, foam underneath
In molded, spacer and foam-backed cups the foam is structural. The surface is a separate decision, settled by the fabric laid over it, and in this collection the same padded build turns up under a smooth face and under lace. The smooth versions give the flattest result under a T-shirt, and seamless bras is the page organized around that job. Lace over foam keeps the texture visible and leaves a raised edge at the top of the cup, and under very fine fabric that edge and the pattern can both read through. One more line to read on the product page. A padded cup can be underwired or not, and the wire does a different job than the foam does. Foam shapes the bust. The wire defines the base of the cup, anchors it against the ribcage and carries the load down into the band, while the panel between the wires holds the center in place. Padded models without a wire spread those jobs across the band, the cup material, the straps and any bonded or molded reinforcement. Living with foam
Molded and spacer cups keep a crease once they get one. Store them nested in the same direction or laid flat, never with one cup pushed inside the other. Seamed and lightly padded cups are less particular. Removable pads are worth taking out before washing unless the label says otherwise, since they can shift and dry unevenly inside the pocket. Beyond that, each model's care label has the final word, because this range spans bonded stretch fabric, cotton-lined foam and lace. If you arrived here to pick one, the differences compress well. Thin foam covers with the least added bulk. A full foam cup gives the firmest preset line. Spacer does the molded job in lighter, airier material. Removable pads put two levels of shaping in one bra. And a seamed padded cup shapes through its panels, following the body more closely than a formed shell does.
