The Gorsenia Livia G184 is a shaping bodysuit in beige with an underwired bra built into it, so a separate bra is not needed. The cups are stiffened and covered with a fine floral embroidery, and the rest of the body is a heavyweight microfibre.
The cups
The cups are stiffened and underwired, which is what holds their shape and the bust with it. There are no push-up inserts, and the cups are not deep ones, so on a fuller bust they can give a noticeable lift of their own. Inside, the cups are lined with cotton. Over the outside runs a delicate floral embroidery that continues down onto the body at each side, with a small bow between them.
What does the shaping
The fabric is a heavyweight microfibre, and Gorsenia uses it here to smooth the line of the body. The effect is light rather than firm, so this is a bodysuit that evens out a silhouette rather than a control garment. Vertical seams run down the front, placed to draw out the waistline. The back is plain, with the same seaming.
Straps and closure
The straps adjust for length and unclip at both ends, so they can be taken off or swapped for a different pair, clear silicone ones included, depending on the neckline you are wearing. At the crotch it fastens with three rows of hooks and three positions of adjustment, so the length through the body can be set and the bodysuit does not have to come off over the head.
Fabric
The composition is 76% polyamide, 16% elastane and 8% cotton.
Under clothing
The microfibre is opaque and smooth, and it evens out the line under a dress. It is not a firm shaper, though, so under something very close-cut it will not do the work a control garment would. The embroidery has relief to it, though, so under a very thin fabric its pattern can come through at the bust and the hips. The beige is a quieter choice under light clothing when it sits close to your own skin tone.

Best for: wearing under a dress where a separate bra and shaper would show two sets of edges; anyone who wants a smooth line with a cup built in rather than firm control; anyone who changes straps to suit the neckline.
Not ideal for: anyone who wants to keep their own bra on underneath; anyone looking for firm shaping across the stomach and waist.
Care
Hand wash at 40 °C, or use a wash bag on the machine's delicate programme. Avoid bleach, the iron, dry cleaning and the tumble dryer, and dry it flat.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Livia G184 have push-up padding?
There are no push-up inserts in them. The cups are stiffened, underwired and cut shallow, which on a fuller bust gives a lift of its own without anything added inside.
Can the straps be changed?
Yes. They adjust for length and unclip at both ends, so you can remove them or fit a different pair, clear silicone straps among them.
