The Gorsenia Livia G184 in black brings an underwired bra and a shaping bodysuit together in one piece, so a separate bra is not needed. What catches the eye is the embroidery: worked in graphite thread on black, it runs across both cups and down over the hips, and at a distance the contrast reads as a soft ash-grey.
Cups and what they do
Stiffened and underwired, the cups keep their shape whether or not anyone is wearing them. They are cut shallow and carry no push-up inserts, so the lift comes from the shape of the cup and the wire rather than from anything packed inside, and on a fuller bust it can be pronounced. Cotton lines them on the inside. A small bow marks the centre.
Straps you can swap
Each strap unhooks at both ends, not just at the back. That means taking them off altogether, crossing them over at the back, or fitting a pair of your own instead, clear silicone among the options, whenever the neckline calls for it. Length adjusts in the usual way.
How much shaping it gives
This is gentle shaping rather than firm compression. The heavyweight microfibre evens out the line of the torso and the vertical seaming at the front defines the waist, but the bodysuit does not hold you in the way a control garment does.
Black under clothing
Black sits most comfortably under dark clothing and under a lined dress, and it will read through pale or thin fabric. The graphite embroidery is raised, so under something very fine its outline can print through at the bust and the hips, where it is the pattern rather than the colour that shows.
Fastening and fabric
Three rows of hooks at the crotch give three positions, and the gusset is cotton. Composition is 76% polyamide, 16% elastane and 8% cotton.

Who the G184 suits
Best for: a dark dress where a separate bra and a separate shaper would leave two lines to hide; anyone who wants a smooth torso with a cup built in and no tight compression; anyone who crosses or changes straps to suit the neckline.
Not ideal for: anyone attached to their own bra; anyone who wants a firm hold over the stomach and waist.
Care
Wash by hand at 40 °C, or put it in a wash bag and run the delicate programme. Keep bleach, the iron, dry cleaning and the tumble dryer away from it, and dry it flat.

Is anything worn under the Livia G184?
No bra is needed. The cups are part of the bodysuit and they are underwired, so the bra's job is already done.
Will the cups give a push-up effect?
Nothing is inserted into them. The lift comes from the shallow cut and the wire, and on a fuller bust it can be pronounced.
