The Obsessive Matildea Black set uses its lace sparingly: a scalloped band under the wires of an open-cup bra, and a panel at the front and back of a crotchless thong. Everything else is thin black straps and gold-toned chain, one short length in each shoulder strap and one draped across the front of the thong. Between the two pieces the stomach is bare.
What comes in the set
Two pieces: the open-cup bra and the crotchless thong. They come in one combined size and cannot be split. The lace is 90% polyamide and 10% elastane, the chain about 90% aluminium and 10% zinc alloy, and the product contains no nickel. Both arrive together in the original Obsessive box.
The bra
The cups are underwired and open, so the bust itself is not covered. Narrow straps outline each cup and meet at a ring at the centre front, and below the wires a band of patterned lace with a scalloped lower edge runs across the front. The shoulder straps each carry a short section of chain and adjust through sliders. At the back the band is two horizontal straps with vertical connecting straps between them, closing at the centre with three hooks on two positions.
The thong
The front is a panel of patterned lace with a bound upper edge and a small gold-toned logo plaque at the centre. Above it a short chain runs from a ring on each upper strap to a small central ring. At the hips there are two thin straps on each side, the lower one with a slider. At the back the upper straps cross in an X above a lace panel, which narrows to a thong. The crotch is open, with two thin straps running between the legs.
Choosing a size
Bra and thong are supplied in the same set size. Compare bust, underbust, waist and hips with the Obsessive size chart when choosing, rather than going by dress size.
Care
Hand wash at 20 to 30 °C with a mild detergent, or in a wash bag on a delicate programme. No bleach. Press the water out, dry flat away from sun and radiators, and do not tumble dry.
Frequently asked questions
Do the cups cover the bust?
No. The cups are an underwired strap frame with lace only below the wires.
Is the thong open?
Yes. The crotch is open and the back is a thong with crossed straps above it.
Can the thong be adjusted?
Yes. The lower strap on each hip has a slider.
What is the chain made of?
About 90% aluminium and 10% zinc alloy, gold-toned and without nickel.
